Look up!
We've all been there. You've been looking at your phone. Just another few minutes. Just a few more videos. Oh, let me reply to that DM. Ugh. A voice memo? Maybe tomorrow. An hour later, you startle. You look at the top left corner. Where has the time gone. Where has the time gone.
What do you feel in those moments? There's that pang of regret. But also, confusion... This wasn't part of the plan! Yes, not your plan. But someone else's plan. Because, you see, I'm going to let you in on a secret. Your phone doesn't work for you.
You work for it.
Notifications. Friend requests. Endless feeds. Doomscrolling. Permissions dialogs. Slot machine tactics. Ads. Preying on validation, ego, status, insecurity. FOMO. Autoplay. Algorithms that know you better than your friends do. Streaks. Double taps, triple messaging. Swiping left, swiping right, swiping up, only to open the app again. Scrolling.
So. Much. Scrolling.
So much technology sucks us in, and forces us to comply with its rules, its incentives, its strictures.
What if there was a technology platform where the technology was invisible? What if there was a product which started at the user's needs, and not the product's? Where the point of the product was to work for you, and not have you work for it?
That is what we're building at Routes. A technology product that uses the best of everything available today, and then packages it up so it lives exclusively in the background.
Le Walk is our first app. And it's an app built to be put away. It's the only product you'll use that asks you, purposefully, to look away from it, and LOOK UP, at the world around you. There's a lot of technology here, under the hood. But once your headphones are on, we let all that melt into the background. And we have a lot more in store.
If this resonates with you, inspires you, or merely piques your curiosity enough to want to learn more, get in touch. Check out the app, and don't forget to look up.
